Permit Information - SISKIYOU COUNTY FILM COMMISSION

Description

Long renowned for its pristine beauty, Siskiyou County is the home of 14,162 foot high Mount Shasta and the rocky Castle Crags, as well as numerous scenic rivers. From high mountain lakes, lava beds, virgin forests, and rushing rivers to abandoned mines from the Gold Rush Era and historic homes, it's all here — 6,313 square miles of breathtaking natural beauty.

There are four distinct climates in Siskiyou County. October and February have the most rainfall, with little fog at any time. The surrounding mountains are usually snow-capped from October to May.

With mountains and valleys, dense forest and high desert plateau, Siskiyou County offers an array of American West settings. Located on scenic Interstate 5 at the top of the state of California, five hours north of San Francisco, 90 minutes from the Medford Airport and 60 minutes from the Redding Airport, Siskiyou County is a rich resource for your filmmaking needs. - http://filmsiskiyou.com/

The California Film Commission (CFC) coordinates with the over 60 Regional Film Offices to help promote and facilitate filming throughout California. Regional Film Office Partners support productions that wish to film in a local region. They operate as part of their jurisdiction's chamber of commerce, county, city, or convention and visitors bureau. Regional Film Office Partners have a knowledge of production and will coordinate film location activities when a production company wishes to film in their area. We recommend that your first call should be to the local Regional Film Office Partner. It could save you a lot of time, money, and energy. // updated 5.7.2011 lm/ 8.11.2014 eg / 12.11.15 lb / 9.1.2016 lb / 9.21.2016 lb / 4.20.2018 / 12.5.2018 / 4.19 & 23.2020 lm
