Palos Verdes Estates

Located on the beautiful Palos Verdes Peninsula, southwest of Los Angeles, the City of Palos Verdes Estates is a residential community with a small-town atmosphere, tree-lined streets, and breathtaking ocean views. Incorporated in 1939, we are celebrating our 75th anniversary this year, proud of our history and planning for our future.

The City's master plan was developed by noted landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr., and includes dedicated areas of parklands/open space for public enjoyment. The Palos Verdes Homes Association and Art Jury are responsible for overseeing the architecture and landscaping of homes. The City is comprised of four residential areas, Lunada Bay, Malaga Cove, Montemalaga, and Valmonte, each with a unique character. The City also features two small, pedestrian-oriented business areas, Malaga Cove Plaza and Lunada Bay Plaza, which offer a variety of goods and services for the community.

Palos Verdes Estates is the oldest of the four Cities on the Peninsula. Residents enjoy the benefits of the excellence in education provided by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District. The historic Malaga Cove branch of the Palos Verdes Library District is also located in the City. In addition to numerous walking and hiking paths and noted surfing beaches, the City is proud of its other recreational venues, including the Palos Verdes Golf Club, the Palos Verdes Tennis Club, the Palos Verdes Beach & Athletic Club, and Palos Verdes Stables.
