Huron

Huron is often called the “cornucopia” of the San Joaquin Valley. It is located approximately 50 minutes from Fresno, less than an hour north east of the wineries of Paso Robles and less than 90 minutes from Morro Bay, San Luis Obispo and Cal Poly University.

Interstate 5, which connects the Los Angeles Basin to Sacramento, is located approximately 5 miles to the west. Historic State Route 101 provides access to coastal communities, as well as the San Francisco Bay Area can be accessed via I-5 and SR 46 to the south. State Route 99 is accessible by SR 198, 41, 46 and 145.

Huron’s primary industry is agriculture, but there is sufficient labor force in the area to support many other types of industries, including manufacturing. 2014 Estimated Population: 6,843
