Bakersfield

Bakersfield is the Kern County seat and a sprawling metropolitan community at the southern end of the San Joaquin Valley, surrounded by a horseshoe-shaped rim of mountains. It features modern and period business districts and commercial zones, new and established residential neighborhoods, three racetracks, a minor-league baseball stadium, a community college with a large football stadium, a university campus, a large county fairgrounds, convention center and county and city administration buildings.
