Anderson is located 10 miles south of Redding and 150 miles north of Sacramento on Interstate 5. It has a small town, rural look with a 450 acre park situated on the banks of the Sacramento River. Shasta District Fairgrounds, 45 acres, is in Anderson and features a millhouse, windmill, and old time general storefronts and a barn and crop-growing fields. Also, a 1/3 mile asphalt racetrack with grandstand seating of 1500 and satellite horseracing facilities. Population is 8,865.
