Laguna Niguel

The City of Laguna Niguel was incorporated on December 1, 1989. The City is a master-planned community encompassing 14.79 square miles in the coastal area of South Orange County, California. As of May 2, 2022, the State of California Department of Finance estimates the City’s population to be 64,885. The City is primarily a residential community supported by a strong retail and commercial base. About one-third of Laguna Niguel’s geographic area permanently designated as parks and open space; this is one of the key features that define the character and form of the City.
