The Aquarium is located on the picturesque Rainbow Harbor in Long Beach, only thirty minutes from Los Angeles. Home to over 12,000 animals from large sharks to colorful tropical fish, the Aquarium features indoor and outdoor exhibits ranging from a nearly three-story tall kelp exhibit to a tropical tunnel. Interactive opportunities with sharks, sea lions, and (seasonally) penguins are offered. Underwater filming is possible. This location also features behind-the-scenes pump and filtration areas, labs, an animal hospital, classrooms, theaters, and more.

The Aquarium and adjacent parking structures are anchors to the Pike at Rainbow Harbor, the largest waterfront development in California history. The parking structure for the Aquarium is on the water side of Shoreline Drive between Chestnut Place and Aquarium Way. When the Aquarium lot is full, you will be directed to The Pike parking structure. The entrance is on Chestnut and Shoreline, just across the street from the Aquarium's main lot.
