Gold Mountain Manor
United States / Big Bear City, California
Location ID: #10180478
The Gold Mountain Manor was built in 1928 by Alexander Barrett, a prominent Hollywood movie investor, for him and his wife Bessie. The Barrett's commissioned Maltby Homes, which then built the manor from local hand-hewn pine logs and red quartz stone taken from the Gold Mountain Mine. The manor is roughly 7,000 square feet, with 7 guest rooms all uniquely decorated in period décor. Sitting on nearly an acre of land, the manor has a half-acre garden that changes with every season. It has a large gravel parking lot in the back and a long asphalt driveway with plenty of parking for production vehicles. The Gold Mountain Manor is a flash back to the elegant, rustic, old west.
