Paskenta is a small rural town 21 miles west of Corning, CA. It was once a logging town for the nearby range of mountains. Paskenta was originally inhabited by a tribe of Nomlaki people who are now part of the federally-recognized Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians. The modern settlement was founded by Americans of European origin ca. 1860. A post office has been in operation there since 1872. The Paskenta RancherĂa was established between 1906 and 1909 and is home to the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians.
