Carter House Cellars LLC (“Carter House Cellars” or the “Company” or the “Winery” or “CHC”) is positioned to be a premium and one of the top private club locations in Silicon Valley focused on a winemaking membership for discerning wine and food aficionados that desire a deeper dive in the wine world by assisting in the winemaking process and making their very own wines as while gaining knowledge of the wine business. The wines will be allocated only to members, making these wines some of the world’s most exclusive wines anywhere. Wines will be paired with the finest foods from the top chef’s around as they cook culinary delights. Combining the magic of wine with amazing foods, some of which are grown on the property, with top guest experience and services makes for an experience second to none. The 380-acre property is home to +20 acres of vineyard planted and managed by Advance Viticulture, a top vineyard consulting firm. In addition to wine on the short list we will offer truffle hunting experiences as well as truffle cooking and tastings, all grown on the property. The Victorian, perched on a mound of bedrock, was built by the original CEO and founder of the Bank of San Francisco which is now known as Bank of America. Along the lineage, a Folgers Coffee heir was also associated with the property. Eventually the family hid on this property a family member shunned for her sexual orientation. Her name was Ms. Carter in which the locals then referred to the property as the Carter House, hence the name Carter House Cellars. For the vineyard purposes the property was referred to as Lion Oaks Ranch which sold grapes to many wineries a long time ago including David Bruce in its heyday. Ms. Carter passed away just prior to her 94th birthday leaving the property to her nephew Joe Donahue whom we purchased this property off his estate in 2013.
