Camp McCumber is 40 miles east of Redding off Hwy 44. It is cooler than Redding with elevation between 4,000 & 4,500 feet. It is nestled by a lake & surrounded by pine trees. This rustic YMCA facility on 40 acres offers cabins are scattered among the trees, commercial kitchen and dining room, volleyball & basketball courts along with a ballfield. The waterfront area offers boat docks, canoes, paddleboats and roped swimming area. Meeting areas include an amphitheater that over-looks the lake, a meeting room and a covered BBQ area with picnic tables. The facility can sleep around 185 people- ideal for retreats, schools, educational/ leadership pursuits, family groups, companies/ boards and churches.
