Veterans Memorial Park (previously Wildwood Park and was renamed in November 2024 to honor Chico's veterans) serves as the gateway to the scenic Upper Bidwell Park. Established in 1995 and transferred to CARD in 2011, Veterans Memorial Park has become one of the area's most popular destinations. CARD has continuously enhanced and preserved its excellent amenities, which include:
A large Adventure Play Structure for children ages 5–12
A “tot lot” for children ages 2–5
Two (2) covered picnic areas with BBQs.
Two (2) little league fields
One large multi-use sports field
Two (2) pump tracks: beginner and intermediate-to-advanced
Walking/jogging path spanning approximately 3/4 of a mile
Restroom facility
With two spacious picnic sites, Red Bud and Blue Oak, Veterans Memorial Park is the perfect venue for special occasions such as family gatherings, celebrations, and group outings.
