This preserve occupies a spectacular headland thrusting out into the Pacific Ocean. From a parking lot accessible from Point Cabrillo Drive and down a half-mile long access road, it takes you to a beautiful setting of historic buildings made up of three original lightkeepers’ houses, outbuildings, and the Point Cabrillo Light Station. The fully restored lighthouse is open 365 days a year from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are trails scattered across the headlands where the terrain consist of scattered trees and untouched grasslands. Open only to pedestrian use from sunrise to sunset daily.
