Location Details

Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament

United States / Sacramento, California
Location ID: #843

Rising some 215 feet above K Street, one block away from the State Capitol, stands the Italian Renaissance style, basilica form, Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament.

Built in 1887, it was the largest of its kind west of the Mississippi and to this day is an intensely detailed architectural marvel. A few short miles away is the Old City Cemetery, the oldest cemetery in Sacramento and the final resting place of many of the region’s most historic figures, including John Sutter himself, three of the “Big Four” railroad barons and members of the Donner Party. Designed to look like a terraced Victorian garden, the cemetery now encompasses 44 acres and is lined with roses, incredible stone work and masonry dating back to the late 1800s. These are just a few examples of the broad array of churches, cathedrals and cemeteries we have available and ready for your next production.
