Description:The City of Sonoma is one of the oldest cities in the state of California. Founded in the 1850. It is home to many historic buildings and features the beautiful 7-acre historic Sonoma Plaza. The Plaza is surrounded by many historic buildings including the Carnegie Library built in 1913. The surrounding buildings have maintained their late 1800’s to early 1900’s façades, with many built of bricks, stones and adobe. The City of Sonoma has the Sonoma Depot which is now a museum which was constructed in the 1880’s by the Sonoma Valley Railroad. The City has numerous residences and neighborhoods that date back to the early 1900’s.
