Description:Founded in 1994 by two visionary young teachers with 50 students. The Accelerated School has become a national model for education reform and professional development. Today, this collaborative community-comprising students, parents, teachers, civic leaders and donors – has grown to a state-of the art-multiplex of schools serving Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade… and we’re still growing.
Site Condition:Design includes a big modern courtyard. Many levels and passageways. Great modern gym and rooftop basketball court. TAS was funded by Wallis Annenberg, and constructed from an old fabric warehouse owned by the fashion designer, Carole Little. Since factory no longer produces fabric, Carole Little donated the property.
