Description:
The West Sacramento Wastewater Treatment Plant is a conventional wastewater treatment facility that sits on approximately 10 acres along the Sacramento River at the confluence of the Sacramento River and the Deep Water Ship Channel (adjacent to a Locke and Bascule Bridge and Port of West Sacramento). It is just downstream of the confluence of the Sacramento and American Rivers. The plant was decommissioned in 2007. When operational, the plant had a daily design capacity of treating 7.5 million gallons with peak capacity of 12 million gallons. Major components include several large below grade open-air concrete settling basins (both circular and rectangular), pumping facilities, sludge pressing equipment, and 3 large concrete above ground tanks.
