Description:
A lush valley landscape with forested hills on both sides. The region is largely well known for its near-pristine beauty, vineyards and award winning wines. A large number of tourists are known to pass through there as they make their way to the pristine Mendocino Coast. The largest populated town is Boonville. There are a number of prolific features that offer visual interest. Aside from the vineyards are the virgin ancient redwoods of Hendy Wood State Park, the Highway 128 tree tunnel of Navarro River Redwoods State Park, old farm houses, sheep pastures, apple orchards, and several general stores with historic architecture. The valley has a local aiport, fairgrounds, health clinic, high school, a grange, farmsteads, farm supply stores & nurseries, gas stations, charging stations (available at selected locations), and a brewery.
