Description:
Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens is a unique natural treasure located at 18220 North Highway 1, just two miles south of Fort Bragg and seven miles north of Mendocino. Our mission is to engage and enrich lives by displaying and conserving plants in harmony with our Northern California coastal ecosystems. This magnificent 47-acre site is one of the few public gardens located directly on the ocean’s shore. The mild maritime climate on the Mendocino Coast makes the Gardens a wonder year-round; each changing season brings new flora and fauna. Collections and highlights include: Begonias, Camellias, Closed-Cone Pine Forest, Coastal Bluffs and Marine Zone, Conifers, Dahlias, Fuchsias, Heaths and Heathers, Heritage Rose Garden, Display House (filled to the rafters with begonias and fuchsias), Magnolias, Mushrooms, Perennials, Rhododendrons, Succulents/Mediterranean Garden, Vegetable Garden

Site Condition:
Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens is, above all, a botanical garden with a mission to engage and enrich lives by displaying and conserving plants in harmony with our Northern California Coastal ecosystems. Using props in the Gardens can interrupt this mission. For this reason, all photo sessions which require props, such as light rigs, back drops, tables/chairs and other items that are not in-hand while shooting, must be pre-approved or scheduled after hours. Other General Policies: Do not block paths, stairs, or access to garden areas Do not stand in garden beds or noted sensitive areas Do stay on the paths or use the grassy lawn areas Do not pick flowers, break branches, or damage the plants in any way Do not lean on, climb on or push garden sculptures
