Description:The US 101 stretch from southern mendocino county line to the city of Ukiah varies with terrain but largely makes up of nice grassy hills, populated with oaks. The Russian River flows in parellel along the highway until it passes under a tressle bridge just south of the small town of Hopland. After Hopland, the highway eases into the Ukiah Valley where pastures and vineyards dominate. The landscapes are lush and prolifically green during the late spring months and early summer. One of the most prolific features situated along US 101 in Mendocino county is the Frog Woman Rock formation, lying 6 miles south of Hopland.
