Description:Located in Northern California, the Coleman National Fish Hatchery is located along Battle Creek, a tributary of the Sacramento River. We spawn and raise Chinook salmon and steelhead trout; each year we produce over 13 million juvenile fish. The primary species we produce are Chinook salmon and steelhead. After being released from the hatchery the fish migrate downstream in the Sacramento River to the Pacific Ocean and then, after 1-3 years, return to the hatchery to spawn.
