Description:
Penthouse Sq. Ft: 2,714 Terrace Sq. Ft: 4,703 The Penthouse sits on top a 13 story Art Deco building made famous by the 40's haberdasher James Oviatt. Time stands still here as much of the penthouse interior remains in it's original setting with Rene Lalique crystal and glass, wooden floor panels, and detailed furnishings throughout - a rare gem in the midst of Art Deco structures that have been remodeled on the inside for modern times. Step out to the outdoor terrace for a stunning panoramic view of Downtown, Los Angeles which has been a fan favorite among event, wedding, and production planners. Lobby Sq. Ft: 1,211 Once hailed as the location with the most amount of Lalique glass to be found in one place, the Oviatt Lobby remains true to it's Art Deco origin in it's design and architectural beauty. The lobby is film ready and can be used as a holding and staging space for filming events taking place at the Oviatt Penthouse and Terrace. The Oviatt Building, erected in 1927, was the first Art Deco building in Los Angeles. Designed by Albert Walker and Percy Eisen, it was lavishly embellished with French marble and more than 30 tons of Lalique's art glass — the largest shipment of its kind ever to pass through the Panama Canal. Oviatt's ten-room penthouse was originally decorated by the Parisian design firm of Saddler et fils. The rooms featured burled mahogany furniture and cabinets, parquet wood floors in geometric patterns, carved woodwork, imported fabrics and Lalique glass throughout. From filming to photo shoots to green rooms, the Oviatt Penthouse operates today as a production space that is as versatile as it is classic.
