Description:
Payne's Creek is a small town 23 miles East of Red Bluff. A post office called Paynes Creek was established in 1890 and remained in operation until 1973. The town is named for the eponymous watercourse Payne's Creek. Paynes Creek is home of the CalFire Paynes Creek station, and Tehama County Fire station. A rural town with ranches, farms, and lava bed geology.
