Description:Former booming gold mine city. Downtown area has been preserved with fully restored shops, restaurants, and two hotels; Period set in 1850's; Other Main St. features include schoolhouse, trading post, jail, courthouse, blacksmith, livery, church, saloon and cemetery. Additional building materials include wood and glass. Red brick, 2-story fire station with peaked roof in Columbia State Park. Includes old engines, 1850s hand cart.
