Description:North of Golden Gate the park is 6,300 acres of redwood groves and oak woodlands with a great view from the 2,571-foot peak. Visitors at times are able to see San Francisco Bay, Mt. Diablo and the Farallon Islands. Forests and geological oddities. Mount Tamalpais State Park, North of San Francisco's Golden Gate in MARIN COUNTY, features spectacular and easily-accessed wildflowers each spring.
