Description:Cal Poly Pomona is nestled in 1,438 rolling acres on the eastern edge of Los Angeles County, a striking balance between urban excitement and rural charm. As one of only seven polytechnic universities nationwide, Cal Poly Pomona is known for its learn-by-doing philosophy. The University Library now features a two-story Grand Reading Room with a view of the majestic San Gabriel mountains, a Learning Commons that encourages “search and discovery” through its 36-workstation center offering state-of-the-art technology, a high-tech 53-workstation Productivity Center, and 43 Group Study Rooms to support collaborative learning. As the campus’ principal learning center, the University Library also features a 24-hour Lab with 78 computer stations and round table sitting areas, a Special Events Room for seminars, symposia, and receptions, six classrooms including a 120-seat tiered lecture hall, two information literacy laboratories and a Starbucks Café. The newly redesigned and expanded Farm Store, now more conveniently located at AGRIscapes, features an enhanced line of products from the campus farm, barley, orchards, nursery, petting farm, and apiary. The store design includes state-of-the-art cooling and storage equipment to keep products fresh and wholesome. The Farm Store offers a great diversity of products. Open seven days a week, featuring the finest quality grocery products. Full line delicatessen items such as cheese, sausage, and milk products. Locally and California grown fruits and vegetables. Cal Poly Pomona raised pork and beef products. Wide variety of organic and health foods. Nursery and ornamental crops such as herbs, potted foliage and flowering plants, annuals and perennials, and landscape container plants. Gift items including fruit gift boxes and specialty gift baskets are available. Non-food merchandise includes apparel manufactured in the College's Apparel Merchandising and Management Department. The Rose & Japanese Garden has a large pond with a waterfall feature, two bridges that traverse the waterfall and the pond, as well as walkways, viewing vistas and lighting. Landscaping includes rock formations, trees, shrubs, and groundcover.
