The last stretch of California State Route 1 where 18 miles of coastline finally weaves inland into redwood forests and ends at the US 101 junction. This stretch of near-wilderness offers great scenic views of the northern mendocino coast in addition to towering tree tunnels of cypress and eucalyptus, open ranch lands, vast beaches, tall hilly terrain, and dunes.
